    • SpiderTech Calf & Arch Taping

Kinesiology taping is a skill and takes time to perfect. Although the Calf & Arch Pre-Cut makes it easier, please practice and be patient while applying until you are familiar with the handling of the tape.

      Remember to:

      • Tear all perforations before applying
      • Do not touch the adhesive side of the tape
      • Do not completely remove the backing of the tape until 90% of the tape is adhered to the skin
      • Ensure each section is applied before moving on to the next section
      • Rub over the top of the tape to activate the glue

Before applying the brace, tear all of the perforations. Place subject on their stomach and bend knee so that the bottom of the foot is exposed.

Peel of the backing of section 1 and apply to the subject’s forefoot just behind the toes. Gently rub over lop of the tape to activate the glue.

Position one arm of section 2 between the first and second toes, and the other arm between the third and fourth toes, adhering both to the top of the foot as you gently peel off the backing of the tape.

With the foot relaxed in a neutral position, peel off the backing of section 3 and stretch the tape over the arch of the foot approximately 2 inches more than its resting length anchoring the tape to the heel.

Adhere the tape to the arch of the foot and gently rub the tape to activate the glue.

With the subjects foot dorsiflexed and the calf stretched, peel off the backing of section 4 and apply to the Achilles tendon. Apply the remaining portion of section 4, above the Achilles, with no tension on the tape.

With the calf stretched, tear the backing off of the outside arm of section 5 and apply the tape with no stretch.

Equally spread all 4 projections over the calf. Rub the tape once applied to activate the glue.

    • Kinesio Carpel Tunnel Syndrome Taping

The Kinesio Taping Method is an easy-to-learn, effective modality that can be used by many. However, Kinesio® always recommends that you consult a CKTP (Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner) before applying the tape for the first time.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is painful condition in the wrist. The area in your hand where the nerve enters the wrist is called the carpal tunnel. The space inside the tissue is made smaller by increased tissue pressure and a build up of fluid on the tissue. This puts pressure on the median nerve (the nerve in the wrist that supplies feeling and movements to parts of the hand). Swelling in this area therefore pinches the nerve and causes the pain or other symptoms.

      1. Extend arm with palm up. Place base of “X” strip on inside of wrist. Extend one tail toward base of thumb and the other toward base of little finger. Extend wrist adding light to moderate stretch to all but last 1-2 inches.
      2. Extend opposite tails towards inner & outer sides of elbow joint, adding light to moderate stretch to all but last 1-2 inches.
      3. Wrap “I” strip around the wrist, adding light stretch to tape over back of wrist and no stretch to tape over inside of wrist.

    • SpiderTech Wrist Taping

Kinesiology taping is a skill and takes time to perfect. Although the Wrist Pre-Cut makes it easier, please practice and be patient while applying until you are familiar with the handling of the tape.

Before applying the brace tear all of the perforations. Have the subject extend the arm downward, relaxing the hand.

Place the middle finger through the opening on the support.

Peel of the backing of section 1 and apply the tape to the palm of the hand with no stretch.

Peel of the backing of section 2 and adhere to the back of the hand with no stretch on the tape. Gently rub over top of the tape to activate the glue.

Hold the wrist in a flexed position with the fingers pointing down. Start peeling back the backing of section 3 and apply over the forearm with no stretching of the tape.

Once the brace is applied, gently rub the tape to activate the glue.

    • ROCKTAPE Finger Sprain Taping

Athletes who want to continue playing with a finger jam injury need to provide support to the injured area. Restrictive taping, however, can interfere with touch and the ability to control the ball. This is the type of situation where kinesiology tape can provide the perfect balance between mobility and support. The elasticity of kinesiology tape allows it to provide support to joints or muscles without restricting range of motion as traditional athletic tape does.

    • ROCKTAPE Carpel Tunnel Syndrome Taping

Carpal tunnel syndrome, a common repetitive stress injury affecting the median nerve in the wrist, responds well to KT Tape therapy. Racket sports and other activities requiring fine or repetitive wrist motions, such as regular computer use or construction work, can often cause swelling and inflammation of the median nerve within the carpal tunnel, a narrow passageway in the wrist that is surrounded by bone and connective tissue. The pressure thus exerted on the nerve can severely restrict movement and interfere with fine motor coordination.

elbow precutRemove the backing from section 1 (the anchor) and apply with no stretch in the tape to the outside of the arm just above the lateral epicondyle (bony bump on the outside of the elbow). Gently rub tape from the center out to activate adhesive.

Remove the backing from both sections 2 and apply both sides to the skin with no stretch in the tape. Gently rub the tape from the center toward the ends to activate the adhesive.

Remove the backing of section 3 and stretch the tape approximately 1″ longer than resting length so that the hole is directly over the lateral epicondyle (bony bump on the outside of the elbow). Rub to activate adhesive.

Flex the wrist, pointing fingers downward. Begin removing backing from the outside arm of section 4, applying the tape in the direction of the little finger with no additional stretch in the tape. If the tape is applied to the skin as the backing is removed, you will create the ideal tension.

Keeping the wrist flexed and the fingers pointed downward, begin peeling the backing from the inside arm of section 4, applying the tape in the direction of the thumb. If the tape is applied to the skin as the backing is removed, you will create the perfect tension.

Be sure to gently rub over the entire taped area to activate the glue. For best results, apply the Elbow Pre-Cut  30-60 minutes before sweating, swimming or showering.

Kinesio Taping is an effective treatment for runner's knee, providing knee and patella support, and alleviating associated pain and swelling.

Knee pain is a common problem affecting approximately a third of adults in the UK at any one time. It can particularly affect athletes whose knees take a lot of pressure, such as runners and tennis players. The knee is a vulnerable joint; it takes a substantial amount of the body's weight therefore suffering a lot of impact, placing stress upon the joint. Kinesio taping provides that extra bit of support that your knee may need.

      1. Sit down with leg extended. Place the base of first “Y” tape at the front of the thigh.
      2. Bend the knee to 90° and wrap tails around the kneecap with very little or no stretch.
      3. Place base of second “Y” strip slightly below the knee, and wrap tails around the kneecap with very little or no stretch.

The Kinesio Taping Method is an easy-to-learn, effective modality that can be used by many. However, Kinesio® always recommends that you consult a CKTP (Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner) before applying the tape for the first time.

Kinesio taping can be used to relieve back pain and spasms and is designed to support over stretched back muscles, lower back pain, lumbago and sciatica.

Five out of ten working adults suffer back pain ever year, and nearly everyone will experience back pain at some point in their life. It is the second most common cause of absence from work, after the common cold. The majority of cases are associated with pain and stiffness in the lower back.

      1. Bend to forward to stretch back muscles. Apply each “I” strip lightly above the tailbone and extend up along each side of the spine, adding very little stretch.
      2. Tear paper backing at middle of “I” strip. Still bent forward, add light to moderate stretch and place the center of the tape over strained area.

    • SpiderTech Hip Taping

Kinesiology taping is a skill and takes time to perfect. Although the Hip Pre-Cut makes it easier, please practice and be patient while applying until you are familiar with the handling of the tape.

With the subject lying on their side, remove the backing or the tape in section 1 of the Hip Pre-Cut and stretch the tape in either direction approximately 1 Inch longer than resting length and apply over the bony prominence on the side of the hip. Gently rub over top of the tape to activate the glue.

With the subject still lying on their side, bring their knee towards their chest and let the leg relax in front of the body. Start peeling off the backing of the lower arm of section 2 as you let the tape adhere to the skin in the direction of the centre or the back without any stretch in the tape.

In the same position, remove the backing off the upper arm of section 2 as you let the tape adhere to the skin towards the centre of the back without any stretch in the tape.

With the subject’s leg extended behind the body, start peeling off the backing of section 3 and apply the tape with no stretch along the side of the leg until the remainder of the tape is applied.

Once applied, gently rub over the tape to activate the glue.

    • ROCKTAPE Thigh Strain Taping

A pulled quadriceps is often the result of a strength imbalance between the quadriceps and the hamstring. Strong hamstring muscles in the back of the leg and weak quadriceps muscles in the front of the leg can result in a pull or a tear. Such a muscle imbalance is not uncommon among runners, since running tends to work out the hamstrings much more than the quadriceps. Treatment for strained quadriceps includes rest, icing, and some form of compression.

Kinesiology taping creates compression and support to the affected area without wrapping the entire leg. Further the tape provides a mechanical assist to the injured muscle. This method provides support and pain relief while allowing the full range of motion.

Plantar Fasciitis is one of those conditions that is not life-threatening, but can make you feel so miserable that it sometimes seems that it’s taken over your life. Marked by pain in the arch of the foot and the bottom of the heel, plantar fascitis reminds its victims of its presence with every step they take. Once it’s taken hold, it’s very difficult to get rid of, and many people suffer for years, trying a litany of orthotics, special shoes, liniments and other fruitless remedies.

      • Ensure each section is applied before moving on to the next section
      • Rub over the top of the tape to activate the glue

To begin, have the subject seated or standing comfortably with the head tilted forward with the chin towards the chest. Place the Neck Pre-Cut in the approximate location with the upper ends 1 inch below the hair line to identify where the base of the Neck Pre-Cut will be placed.

Once the location of the base is determined, remove the backing of section 1 completely and apply. Gently rub over top of the tape to activate the glue.

Peel the backing off of the right section 2 as you gently lay down the tape on the skin without stretching the tape. Continue until the entire section is applied. Gently rub over top of the tape to activate the glue.Repeat for the left side of section 2.

Gently remove the backing of section 3 on the left and lay down the tape on top of the skin. Gently rub over top of the tape to activate the glue.

Repeat on the left side of section 3.

Have the subject turn their head and look down towards the right armpit. Gently start removing the backing of the left side section 4 as you lay the tape down on the skin along the top ridge of the trapezius muscle without any stretch in the tape. Continue until the entire section of tape is applied to the muscle. Once applied, gently rub over top of the tape to activate the glue.

Then, have the subject turn their head and look down towards the left armpit. Gently start removing the backing of the right side section 4 as you lay the tape down on the skin along the top ridge of the trapezius muscle without any stretch in the tape. Continue until the entire section of tape is applied to the muscle. Once applied, gently rub over top of the tape to activate the glue.

    • SpiderTech Lymphatic Taping

Kinesiology taping is a skill and takes time to perfect. Although the Lymphatic Pre-Cut makes it easier, please practice and be patient while applying until you are familiar with the handling of the tape.

Begin by tearing all of the perforations on the backing of the tape. After determining where the tape will be applied, remove the backing from the anchor end of the tape (Section 1), and apply it to the skin with no stretch in the tape. Rub the tape briskly from the center toward the edges to activate the adhesive.

Stretch the underlying muscle group to its maximum pain-free range of motion. Begin removing the backing from the first “finger” of the tape, and apply it in a curve, along the outer boundary of the treated area. The tape should be stretched approximately 50% as it is applied, except for the final 1-2″ which should not be stretched.

One at a time, apply the remaining fingers of this half of the application, following the curve of the first piece. Maintain a gap of approximately a finger width between each strip of tape. Continue to stretch the tape as it is applied, except for the final 1-2″. After each strip is applied, rub it briskly to activate the adhesive.

Begin removing the backing from the outer strip of the other half of the application. Apply it in a curve along the opposite boundary of the treated area. The strip should cross over the strips that have already been applied. Continue applying the remaining strips parallel to the outer finger until all have been applied.

The finished application should be symmetrical and completely cover the area of swelling or edema. Ensure that each strip has been rubbed to activate the adhesive. Return the muscle to a relaxed position. The tape should now appear somewhat wrinkled, indicating that it is lifting the skin and underlying tissues as desired.

lower back applicationWith subject standing, peel the backing from half of section 1 of the Lower Back Pre-Cut and apply (with no stretch in the tape) at the base of the lower back. Remove the remaining backing from section 1 and apply. Gently rub the tape from the center toward the outside to activate the glue.

Have the subject bend forward into a curled position to obtain maximum stretch of the back extensor muscles. If necessary, the arms can be used to support the upper body against the thighs.

Begin peeling the backing from the left “arm” of section 2, and begin applying the tape (with no additional stretch) along the muscles directly left of the spine. Continue removing the backing and pressing the tape against the skin until the entire strip has been applied.

Begin peeling the backing from the right “arm” of section 2, and begin applying the tape (with no additional stretch) along the muscles directly right of the spine. Continue removing the backing and pressing the tape against the skin until the entire strip has been applied.

Begin peeling the backing from the outer right arm of section 3, and apply the tape (with no additional stretch) in the direction of the right armpit. Continue peeling away the backing and applying the tape until the entire section has been applied.

    • SpiderTech Elbow Taping

elbowKinesiology taping is a skill and takes time to perfect. Although the Elbow Pre-Cut makes it easier, please practice and be patient while applying until you are familiar with the handling of the tape.

      Remember to:

      • Tear all perforations before applying
      • Do not touch the adhesive side of the tape
      • Do not completely remove the backing of the tape until 90% of the tape is adhered
      • Ensure each section is applied before moving on to the next section
      • Rub over the top of the tape to activate the glue

elbow precutRemove the backing from section 1 (the anchor) and apply with no stretch in the tape to the outside of the arm just above the lateral epicondyle (bony bump on the outside of the elbow).

    • SpiderTech Lymphatic Taping

Kinesiology taping is a skill and takes time to perfect. Although the Lymphatic Pre-Cut makes it easier, please practice and be patient while applying until you are familiar with the handling of the tape.

    • Kinesio Back Taping

      3. Lay down ends with no added stretch.

This method is not strictly limited to Kinesio tape and can be used with any of our kinesiology rolls. To view our range of kinesiology tape please click here.

    • SpiderTech Postural Taping

Kinesiology taping is a skill and takes time to perfect. Although the Postural Pre-Cut makes it easier, please practice and be patient while applying until you are familiar with the handling of the tape.

Before applying the brace tear all of the perforations. With the subject standing in a relaxed position peel off the backing of section 1 and apply along the spine between the shoulder blades. Gently rub over top of the tape to activate the glue.

Have the subject actively contract the back muscles to pull the shoulder blades back into an ideal postural position. Have subject hold this position until entire brace has been applied.

Peel off the backing of section 2, gently stretch the tape approximately 1 Inch more than its resting length and apply to the skin. Gently rub over top of this section to activate glue.

Peel off the backing of section 3, gently stretch the tape approximately 1 inch more than its resting length and apply to the skin.

Peel off the backing of section 4, gently stretch the tape approximately 1 inch more than its resting length and apply to the skin.

Peel off the backing of section 5, gently stretch the tape approximately 1 Inch more than its resting length and apply to the skin.
