Just had this great email from Kertis Beswick, aged 16 he is a sprint hurdler, who started in 2010 and is currently ranked number 3 in the UK. He's also coached by Lorna Boothe (Double Olympian and Commonwealth Champion). We thought we'd share it with you. A) because we love to hear how our users get on and B) we think Kertis is one to watch for the future!
My First experience with Sporttape was during January a day before the 'South Of England Championships'.
I had been very mischievous and managed to injure my knee it became painful every time I attempted to bend. A physio came out to see me the same day. As the race day was the following day and there wasn't much treatment he could give to me.
He applied the kinesiology tape that day to my knee and another injury I had, and reassured me that the K-tape should decrease the inflamed area and I should be able to run without a lot of a pain. In the morning there was very little pain and with k-tape still on i was able to walk it off.
With the help off the tape I was able to finish second, in the championships with a Personal Best, which put me 2nd in the UK Rankings. Thanks!!!
And this weekend I've got the main one, the Indoor Champs. Fingers crossed.
If you want you can follow me on twitter: @KertiSprint110H and just incase you want to see the tape in action here I am on youtube. Heat at 30 Seconds (lane 6). Semi-Final 2:34 (Lane4) . Final at 2:50 (Lane5).
