The New Guys!

Change is afoot here at SPORTTAPE HQ! We've recently had 2 fantastic new guys join us, both who happen to be elite level runners, so feel free to give us a call and say hello or get some tips to break that personal best! Meet them below...

First up is Tom Marshall.

(Tom (number 106) on his way to a thrilling finish at the Jungfrau International Mile in Switzerland).

4 minute miler Tom attended Cardiff Metropolitan University in 2007, whilst there he would win 2 medals at the British Championships, helping him on his way to earning a full athletics scholarship to the University of Tulsa, in Oklahoma. During his time there, he successfully earned a Masters of Business Administration, and won 5 individual championship medals, 3 of which were gold. Alongside this, Tom also gained numerous academic honours.

Tom has roughly 50 Welsh International vests to boast over road, cross country, track, and mountain. With a number of domestic titles to him name, his aim is firmly set on not only representing his country, but winning with pride. He also finds huge enjoyment in pacemaking some of the fastest races in the world.

Now back in Cardiff with us here at SPORTTAPE, Tom still proudly represents Cardiff AAC and Wales, whilst continuing to help run his family farm, where it all began.

Ieuan Thomas

(Ieuan on his way to setting a new Cardiff parkrun record of 14.24)

Ieuan is another graduate of Cardiff Metropolitan University, gaining his BSc in Sports Development.

Following his time at Cardiff Met Ieuan headed stateside after being awarded a full scholarship to attend DII University Western State, who were the reigning DII National Cross Country Champions. Whilst at Western Ieuan developed his talent for the steeplechase, drastically reducing his personal best and becoming a 2 time All-American and gaining Academic All American Honours for his maximum 4.0 GPA.

Now based back in Cardiff, Ieuan has continued to lower his personal bests in every distance from 3000m to the Half-Marathon and most recently won the Welsh Half Marathon Championships in his first attempt at the distance in a time of 65.40.

Ieuan is also a fond appreciator of the arts, often found frequenting the theatre or enjoying a performance of the Welsh National Opera.

Welcome to the team both!
