Bäckstedt Sets New British Record "Held Together by SPORTTAPE"

Friday 5th August 2016, British Youth and Junior Track Championships:

Elynor Bäckstedt came into her race uncertain over how she was going to be able to perform. The previous day had brought with it severe knee pain, to the point in which she could not even pedal following a couple of days of very hard racing in the points and scratch races. It was a huge credit to the Bäckstedt cycling team that she was even able to start her individual pursuit.

With some therapy and taping around the knees (using SPORTTAPE Flex Extra Sticky) Elynor was able to push through any fatigue. Her Coach, Paris-Roubaix and TDF Stage Winner Magnus Backstedt, said "she was literally held together by SPORTTAPE."

Not only did Elynor finish the pursuit, she came away as a National Champion, setting a new British Record of 2.27.667 in the process. That is more than 4 seconds faster than anyone in that age group has ever ridden previously. What an incredible performance, and we're glad that SPORTTAPE could be a small part of helping her back onto the bike for that historic ride.

Elynor now gets the privileged of wearing the striped jersey of the British Champion, and we are certain this won't be the last jersey she earns. A future Olympian? We're absolutely certain of it!
