You may have seen that a couple of weeks ago we took the SPORTTAPE Academy to a brand new location: Sfax in Tunisia! We're very lucky to work with some fantastic people who have been spreading the word of SPORTTAPE for over a year in Tunisia already, but this marked the first occasion that we were able to offer taping training. So our instructor extraordinaire Rob Madden and our own taping enthusiast/marketing manager Ieuan hopped on a plane and off they went.
When we teach, it is very important to us that our new tapers understand the purpose and importance of clinical reasoning when taping. A paint-by-numbers approach just simply doesn't cut it. We're constantly adapting our content based on the latest research and front-line feedback, and we're incredibly lucky to have course directors in Rob and Patrick who have the same open-minded approach that we champion.
Here's a little sneak peak of what to expect on one of our SPORTTAPE Academy courses. Rob demonstrating some Quad taping techniques, and testing their effectiveness.
It was certainly a new experience teaching a course that needed to be translated as we taught. But thanks to the awesome team at SPORTTAPE TN, it went off without a hitch.
It was also the first time that we have offered our standard one day course over 2 days in order to really be able to take our time with the teaching and translating. Luckily no-one seemed to experience the dreaded taping fatigue despite 2 long days of learning.
This course was endorsed by the Association Sciences et Techniques de Physiotherapie in order to offer the CPD equivalent for our attendees, and we were very lucky to have someone from the ASTP with us on the day to co-sign the certificates and help with the presentation.
We are now looking to the future and the potential of further courses in Tunisia and beyond. Keep your eyes peeled to the blog for the latest SPORTTAPE Academy news.
