Learn how to use Kinesiology Tape for SWELLING and DEAD LEG. This application shows the technique for a dead leg/haematoma, but it can be used across any area of the body where there is swelling or circulatory issues.

YOU WILL NEED

K TAPING FOR DEAD LEG/HAEMATOMA

  • Measure K TAPE across 3/4 of the quad.

  • Cut your strip into a 4-tail LYMPHATIC FAN.

  • See our ‘Taping Techniques’ video if you don’t know how to cut a fan.

  • Round the edges of each tail.

  • Apply the anchor at the nearest lymph node.

  • For dead leg this is the inguinal node at the top of the inner thigh.

  • Lay each strip in a wave pattern with 15% stretch.

  • Repeat step from the opposite side, once again starting at the upper thigh.

  • Creating a fanned design over the area of swelling, covering the maximum surface area.

  • Rub the tape to activate the glue.

  • Wait at least 30 minutes before exercising.
