SHOULDER K TAPING GUIDE


FOLLOW THIS K TAPING APPLICATION FOR SHOULDER PAIN

All you need is a sharp pair of scissors, clean skin and a friend to help you apply the tape. Then watch and follow the video above (summary below). Remember to seek medical advice first and whether you're a seasoned taping pro or a first time taper, always fully assess before applying.

STEP 1

  • Measure the tape from mid arm to the top of the shoulder
  • Prepare a Y-Strip (if taping a large shoulder, 2 xI-Strip will work better)
  • Rip the ends of the Y-Strip
  • Lay the base of the Y-Strip with 0% stretch
  • Stretch the arm across the body

STEP 2

  • Apply the outer tail with 0% stretch up the arm & around the back of the shoulder
  • Stretch the arm in the opposite direction by putting it behind your back.
  • Apply the inner tail with 0% stretch up the arm & around the front of the shoulder

STEP 3

  • Slump your shoulder and tilt your head towards the opposite shoulder
  • Measure the tape as before
  • Lay the base with 0% stretch (preferably on the skin for greater adhesion)
  • Lay the tape with 0% stretch up the arm and across the shoulder
  • Wait 30 minutes before exercising to allow the tape time to set
