SHOULDER PAIN KINESIOLOGY TAPING

Follow this easy kinesiology taping application video for SHOULDER PAIN using SPORTTAPE FLEX to provide dynamic support and pain relief. To save time for this shoulder pain kinesiology taping application we've used pre-cut strips from our FLEX KIT for this video. However it is really simple to cut a SPORTTAPE FLEX roll.

STEP 1

  • Measure the tape from mid arm to the top of the shoulder
  • If necessary prepare a Y-Strip (don't forget to round the edges!)
  • Rip the ends of the Y-Strip
  • Lay the base of the Y-Strip with 0% stretch
  • Stretch the arm across the body (as if putting a seat-belt on)

STEP 2

  • Apply the tail with 0% stretch up the arm & around the back of the shoulder
  • Stretch your arm backwards
  • Apply the tail with 0% stretch up the arm & around the front of the shoulder

STEP 3

  • Slump shoulder and tilt head to the opposite shoulder
  • Measure the tape as before
  • Lay the base with 0% stretch (preferably on the skin for greater adhesion)
  • Lay the tape with 0% stretch up the arm and across the shoulder
  • Finish by rubbing the tape to activate the adhesion

That's it! Then just wait 30mins to an hour before exercise. SPORTTAPE FLEX can be worn for up to 7 days (through multiple washes & swims) however we'd always recommend reapplying or removing after 3 days for maximum effect.
