It all depends on the application and the usage. Our tape can remain on for a number of days since it is water resistant, however we recommend that you keep it on for a maximum of 5 days. The length of time will vary depending on the area of application. For example, applying to the feet may only last 1-2 days (more wear and tear) whilst the postural area could last 5+ days.
The person who has applied the tape accidentally handled the adhesive when applying the product. Or the tape was applied without properly preparing the skin (clean and dry thoroughly).
The tape was not “set” via rubbing the tape post-application to activate the adhesive, and/or the user did not wait approximately one hour after application before engaging in physical activity or getting the tape wet.
SPORTTAPE FLEX is now widely adopted by physical therapists and is being used by everyone from Sunday league footballers to some of the worlds biggest sports stars.
SPORTTAPE FLEX can be used in a multitude of ways; from kinesiology taping methods to providing sensory support. Every day we see the results of SPORTTAPE FLEX, however the evidential science behind the kinesiology taping methodology is somewhat lacking, so until it catches up here are our thoughts....
Although kinesiology taping has been used by millions of people worldwide, its popularity has been gained through its clinical effectiveness at reducing pain and changing athletic function rather than hard scientific evidence. Several theories exist as to how kinesiology tape works however none have proved conclusive. To put it simply, we know it works but were still 100% sure how.

Food for Thought
You may have heard a few rumours about kinesiology tape applications, we’re hear to bust a few:
It doesn’t. All of our colours are identical tapes and performance and adhesion is the same. Our branded, platinum and GB tapes are printed so contain an extra layer on top of the tape, but this doesn’t affect adhesion or stretch.
Nope. Myth. You can start top down or bottom up. The key is to lay the tape correctly over the area you want treated. Often this does mean wrapping a joint a specific way or starting at a specific point, but as long as it’s applied correctly over the area performance is the same.
We have seen and felt the affects of SPORTTAPE first hand, as have thousands of people around the world.
We wont lie to you, kinesiology taping applications don’t work for everyone. This can be for a multitude of reasons but often it’s down to incorrect application techniques or unrealistic expectations. Therefore we would always recommend that you visit a specialist first and study our user guides before applying the tape. As ever if you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Unfortunately the applications and tape are designed for one time use only.
Easily… pull the tape off gradually in the same direction as the hair. After a few days of wear this will be a lot easier. Or you can use some TAPEOFF!
Shaving before applying is not necessary, however it unquestionably helps with adhesion and we would certainly recommend it for more intensive exercise. If you prefer we recommend that you trim the hair down rather than a clean shave.
Put simply; nothing. Fortunately if you don’t apply to the correct area, then the tape will have little or no affect so you won’t do any harm to yourself.
You certainly can. There are areas of the body, which may require some help though such as postural, lower back and shoulder, however we supply clear instructions to follow so anyone can do it.
